Chatham man accused of knife raid on newsagents

A man has been charged with a robbery in which two shop workers were threatened with a knife.
Russell Hadley, of Palmerston Road, Chatham, is accused of a raid on McColl’s newsagent, in Admirals Walk, Lordswood.
The 25-year-old was remanded in custody when he appeared before Medway magistrates on Wednesday.
A man walked into McColl’s at about 8.50pm on Wednesday, November 17 and threatened two staff members before forcing open the till.
He escaped with £360, but no one was hurt in the robbery.
Hadley was arrested on Tuesday and charged by officers from Medway Police. He will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on January 4.
