Chatham head to Brentwood on Saturday on the back of a morale-boosting win against Tilbury.
Manager Kevin Watson (pictured) hailed his team after they bounced back to winning ways with a 3-0 success on Monday in Ryman League Division 1 North.
Watson, who admits he is puzzled about his side’s inconsistency, was delighted that they picked up three points at Tilbury just two days after a dismal 3-0 defeat at Harlow.
He said: "We don’t seem to have a level of consistency and I can’t put a finger on why. It could be down to work-rate and players’ mentality in games."
Chatham travel to Brentwood on Saturday and Watson said: "It’s a nice place to go. They try and play football and we had a good game against them earlier this season."
Matt Solly misses the game after picking up an ankle injury at Harlow. Striker Jamie Lawrence has joined Chatham from Kent Hurlimann League VCD.
