Unhappy Kevin Watson is looking for a quick response as his Chatham side prepare for two Ryman League, Division 1 North games in three days.

A lunchtime trip to Harlow on Saturday brings the curtain down on the year before Tilbury visit Maidstone Road on Bank Holiday Monday.

Watson, pictured, said: "Harlow are one of the stronger sides in the league, while Tilbury are another physical side who are doing well. We have got some tough tests coming up in the next few weeks and need to pick up as many points as we can."

The 2-0 defeat to Thamesmead on Tuesday ended Chatham’s unbeaten run of four games and Watson admitted: "It was a disappointing result and performance.

"We haven’t had that many poor ones, but the first half at Thamesmead was one of them. We knew what to expect but didn’t seem prepared for it. We gave them a head start and they then got a second and the game was over."

Lloyd Blackman (calf) and Jason Barton (hamstring) were due to have fitness checks at training on Thursday night.
