Chatham boss Paul Foley has called for a response from his players to Tuesday night’s dismal 3-0 home defeat against Chipstead in Ryman League Division 1 South.

Chats face a trip to basement boys Horsham YMCA on Saturday sitting eight points clear of the drop zone themselves but having played at least two more games than most of the teams below them.

Foley, pictured, said: "Following signs of improvement in the last two games, we took a step backwards again.

"It was not helped by the absence of Uche Ibemere and Brad Potter through injury and Aaron Firth and Jon Hogg who were unable to get away from work in time."

Chatham face a selection crisis ahead of the trip to Sussex with Potter and Kane Rice starting three-game bans and David Hunt missing through suspension.

Kevin Watson and Ibemere also remain sidelined and Foley admitted: "We are under strength for an important game against Horsham YMCA.

"It is a must-win for them, given the difference in points between us both. It would be a great game for us to win but we are not going to be at full strength."
