Chatham Town utilise Harris Academy Falconwood to beat bad weather

Chatham have been back to school in an effort to beat the freezing weather.
Boss Kevin Watson took his squad to the Harris Academy Falconwood near Eltham, where he is in charge of PE, to use their facilities as the enforced winter break moved into its second week.
Watson said: "We have got great facilities there, including a sports hall and fitness suite and we also use a 3G pitch at Well Hall near Eltham, as well our usual training facilities at Fleet Leisure in Northfleet.
"We have managed to do a couple of sessions, so the break hasn’t really affected us in that respect. All our training costs are budgeted for at the beginning of the season, which helps.
"We need to be playing games, though, because nothing compensates for that."
Chatham host AFC Sudbury on Saturday as the Ryman League, Division 1 North season clicks into gear again after a two-week shutdown and Watson is keen his players bounce back quickly.
He said: "It’s all about how teams react and it’s a mentality thing. I’m pleased we start again at home."
Midfielder Matt Solly (pictured) has stepped up his training after being out for nearly two months with an ankle injury and could be involved.
