Chatham Town's pre-season preparations have been hit by a serious knee injury to Danny Penny.
The new skipper, pictured, broke down after 15 minutes of Saturday’s 3-1 win at Hythe.
Assistant manager Mark Newson said: "Danny was just jogging past the dugout getting into position, when he landed awkwardly and collapsed. He went straight to hospital and he is due to see a consultant when he will know more.
"He has had an anterior cruciate problem before, and the fear is it maybe is a recurrence of that."
Young striker Uche Ibemere also picked up a knock at Hythe, and missed the 2-1 home defeat against Tonbridge on Tuesday.
Ryan Restall came off the bench to get two at the weekend, and also scored in midweek.
George Fenwick and Joe Fuller have joined the Chats, but the latter is unavailable for Saturday's home friendly against Welling.
