A cherry picker has crashed through a supermarket bridge while being used to change lights in the car park.
The equipment was seen by a passer-by tipped on its side, blocking the walkway at Morrisons in Strood.
It was blocked off with fencing on Thursday to ensure the area was safe for customers and by the next morning it had been removed.
There were two engineers working at the site in Knight Road at the time and neither were injured during the accident.
They covered the hole the picker had made and left the fencing up until there can be a full repair.
A Morrisons spokesman said: "During some routine maintenance, a cherry picker damaged the bridge. No one was hurt and the area has been safely secured until a full repair is completed."
