A takeaway which has been trading for 30 years has decided to call it a day.
Noble House, in John Street, Rochester, had served customers its Chinese cuisine since 1993.
Run by Mr Mo and known for its popular sweet and sour, duck and seafood dishes, it has now permanently closed its doors.
Yesterday (Sunday) was its final night – and it proved a busy one.
A member of the family, who had worked under Mr Mo for almost 25 years, explained: “As the lease for the premises has expired, we have decided to close down as of October 9.
“The boss is going into retirement too, so after 30 years in this location it’s now the end.”
Speaking last night, after the final service, he added: “It’s a sad occasion, and we have had lots of customers tonight which has made it really busy.
“Mr Mo starts at 2pm most days and doesn’t stop until 1am in the morning.
“I work here to help out the family and have been in the business almost 25 years myself.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for your support over the last 30 years.”
The decision to close was met with sadness from many of the takeaway’s customers.
Commenting on social media, one person said: “It’s so sad – our family have been going there my whole life.
“[I have] memories of my dad sitting me on the counter and watching the Saturday night TV while we waited.”
Meanwhile another added: “How sad. Lovely Chinese and only had one from there last Sunday.
“Best of luck to all of them.”
