An investment banker is ditching his City job to run a trampoline centre – the second planned for Medway this summer.

Flip Out is set to open at Jetty 5 at Chatham Quays – just a few doors away from Creams Cafe.

The fun park will have interconnected trampolines on different levels, where you can spring, trick or flip off the walls.

It will cater for mums with toddlers, school-age children, teenagers and adults, with equipment suited to each age group.

There will also be a cafe with an outdoor roof terrace overlooking the marina.

The centre is being created by husband and wife team Mark and Sue McGill.

Mr McGill, 53, who has worked in investment banking for the last 20 years, said: “I’ve had enough of working in the City and my wife wanted to invest in something that was her own business so we looked at a number of different opportunities.

“At the same time our son Lewis, who is 17, went to a trampoline centre and was waxing lyrical about how great it was and how all his friends were going there, which made us sit up and take notice.

“The concept is very popular at the moment. Other trampoline centres are very busy.

“They are lots of fun and really positive places to be. They are great for kids’ fitness as well.”

Flip Out started in Australia five years and now has 50 branches all over the world.

There are only four sites in the UK but 12 more in the pipeline.

Mr McGill, also dad to Ethan, 12, said: “What we are planning is quite different from other trampoline parks.

“There will be something for mums and toddlers, an area that is more advanced for school-age children, and a separate area for teenagers and young adults which is more adventurous and challenging.”

Medway will also be home to Soar trampoline centre in Courteney Road, Gillingham, which is due to open on June 10.
