After 10 years at a shopping centre a coffee shop and bakery is set to move.
But Bakers + Baristas is not going far – the business is moving from the cafe along the mall at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre to the former Argos store at one of the main entrances.
Known more commonly as BBs, it opened on Thursday after the unit had a major facelift.
Manager Amer Qayyum said the makeover includes new branding, new furniture and new fittings and a fresh menu.
It will provide room to seat 70 inside and 20 outside the centre and he is taking on three extra staff to help run the newly-expanded venture.
He said: "We have our regular customers who can't resist our freshly made muffins and coffee and we hope to see more new ones."
Mr Qayyum believes the secret of success is "freshness".
He said: " We bake on site every day, 15 to 16 types of muffins, and don't carry anything over to the next day.
There is a seasonally changing menu and there are new summer specials such as strawberries and cream and pina colada muffins or the new chicken, mozzarella, tomato and pesto flatbread.
Also on offer are bespoke, small batch roasted coffee blend, which can be enjoyed on their year-round drink’s menu or barista-made drinks.
Dairy-free options are available to ensure that all customers are catered for.
James Fleming, group chief executive said: "We have a winning combination of a freshly baked, hand-made food menu, alongside our artisanal coffee blend. This magic is brought to life by our team of passionate bakers and experienced baristas in every store, who are making our delicious seasonal menu from scratch in store everyday."
Argos has relocated to the refurbished Sainsbury's superstore.
