A competition has been launched to name a new retirement complex.
Work on the home began in August, with four bungalows being knocked down in Rainham to make way for the homes for the over 60s.
Churchill Retirement Living was granted planning permission for 54 apartments in 2019.
Now Churchill has launched a competition for local people to name the development in the High Street.
The closing date is Friday, December 17 and the winner will receive £100.
The winning name will also appear on the development itself and in all related marketing literature.
The one and two bedroom apartments will be privately-owned and the complex will include a communal lounge, a lodge manager, and a 24-hour emergency call alarm service.
Anne Scherrer, Churchill’s senior regional marketing manager, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our new development to Rainham and have seen lots of interest from local over 60s keen to find out more about the benefits of the retirement living lifestyle.
"Anyone interested in finding out more about the new development can register their interest now for updates, and be among the first to find out when the apartments will be released for sale.”
Four properties in a row, between the town centre and the junction with Maidstone Road, have been demolished.
They are being replaced with a T-shaped building comprising 37 one bedroom and 17 two bedroom flats.
To enter the naming competition, send your suggested name and the reason for it along with your name, address and phone number to: Freepost, Churchill Retirement Living, or by email to liz.luesley@crl.co.uk.
Churchill Retirement Living development names always end in Lodge and the chosen name is subject to approval by Medway Council.
