A large cordon which sealed off residential streets for more than 24 hours has been lifted.
Three men were arrested following an assault in Britton Street, Gillingham, at around 11pm on Tuesday.
They have since been released under investigation but police cannot confirm why they were arrested due to operational reasons.
One man was attacked.
Forensics officers and sniffer dogs spent most of yesterday combing the scene.
Residents reported hearing screams and seeing a group of hooded men late on Tuesday.
A 20-year-old resident of nearby Saxton Street witnessed the incident.
She said: "At around 9.30pm/10pm I saw about three or four white men with their hoods up.
"They were arguing with a woman. She was in her early 20s.
"It started off as a laugh. She thought they were messing around, they started arguing and then she just started screaming and screaming and then it went silent.
"We didn't hear any ambulances just saw police and forensics."
Police spokesman Andy Saunders confirmed no injuries had been reported.
