A couple had to flee their car after it caught on fire while they were driving along a road in Strood.
Firefighters were called out to Cuxton Road at about 10.20pm Yesterday (Wednesday) after the Ford Ka burst into flames.
The couple, who are in their sixties, saw smoke billowing from the dashboard of the three-year-old vehicle and pulled over. They managed to get out unharmed.
A crew from Strood fire station spent about 25 minutes putting out the flames.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “The couple were a bit shook up and the car has been destroyed.
“The police closed the road for us while we dealt with the fire.”
