Tickets for Craig David's Rochester Castle Concerts gig sell out
08:25, 13 April 2017
Tickets for Craig David’s second Castle Concert have sold out.
He will perform on Tuesday, July 11, in addition to his sold-out gig on Thursday, July 13.
When tickets went on sale on March 30, the online allocation of tickets sold out in just 10 minutes and all tickets were sold in 30 minutes.
The Seven Days artist announced last week he would play a second Castle Concert following exceptional demand for tickets for his show.
After the tickets sold out for the July 13 gig at the castle, Craig tweeted shortly after, following a wave of messages from fans unable to get their hands on tickets, saying: “Sorry to anyone that missed out on tickets for my Rochester Castle show.
"Sold out in under 10mins. Thank you! Gonna be big! @castleconcerts”
This morning, online tickets sold out within an hour, with remaining tickets being snapped up by 11.30am.
Medway Council head of events Carl Madjitey said: “We are delighted to announce that Craig David will play a second night at the Castle Concerts.
"We knew Craig David tickets were going to sell out quickly, but the demand totally exceeded our expectations.”
Sixteen years after his debut album, Born To Do It, reached number one, Craig is back at the top with his latest album, Following My Intuition, which flew straight to the top spot in the official album chart when released last year.
The gig is part of Craig David’s long-awaited UK tour, which kicked off earlier last month in Cardiff.
One woman in the queue since 6.30 this morning was Kimmy Parris.
She was first in line at Visitor Information Centre in Rochester.
Kimmy from Rochester was getting tickets for her mum who was "gutted" she missed out last time.
Eighties band Wet Wet Wet will perform on Wednesday, July 12, supported by The South, featuring former members of The Beautiful South.
On Friday, July 14, the Magic of Motown hits the stage, and The Castle Proms will once again provide a patriotic finale to the series on Saturday, July 15.
