A crash on A229 near Blue Bell Hill, Chatham, causing delays for motorists on the M2

A crash between a lorry and a car on the A229 at Chatham caused delays for motorists on the M2 this evening.
Police were called out to the road, near Blue Bell Hill, just before 5pm after the two vehicles collided.
The accident caused delays for motorists trying to get off the motorway at junction 3 for Chatham, but no one suffered any injury due to the smash.
A spokesman for police said: “Kent Police was called at 4.55pm following a collision involving a lorry and a car on the A229.
The incident occurred close to junction three of the M2.
“Police are at the scene and there are no reported injuries. Recovery of the vehicles is underway.”
Highways officials said traffic eventually cleared at around 7pm.
