Smoke seen billowing from a lorry resulted in two fire engines being sent to Chatham town centre earlier this morning.
Crews were initially called out to New Road, in the town but found the lorry parked up at the side of the road on Best Street at about 11.20am.
It was first thought the lorry was on fire as someone had reported seeing smoke, but the call out turned out to be a false alarm.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said no action was taken by crews.
