Blue Bell Hill crash leaves cyclist seriously injured on Chatham bound carriageway

A cyclist was left seriously injured after a collision with a vehicle on a busy dual carriageway.
But when police attended the scene on Blue Bell Hill between Maidstone and Chatham on Wednesday evening the vehicle was not there.
Officers were called just before 8pm and are now investigating the crash and have appealed for witnesses to come forward to help inquiries.
The incident took place on the Chatham-bound carriageway near the petrol station on the busy hill.
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.
A police spokesman said he is in a stable condition.
