Police have been called to Anchorage House following a burglary in which the doors were allegedly blown off.
A witness told KentOnline: “It’s all going on down there, the doors have been blown off.”
Our reporter at the scene says the pane of glass at the door of the court has been smashed and police are still there investigating.
Workmen are already at the scene to deal with lights broken on the doorway.
Spokesman for Kent Police, Jordan Bluer, said: “Police were called at 6.59am to a report of a burglary at an address in High Street, Chatham.
“It is believed to have happened overnight. Officers are currently at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”
The building is the home of Medway County Court and Family Court.
HM Courts and Tribunals Service spokesman Shaun Payne said:“Medway County Court will remain closed today following an incident overnight.
“The police are investigating and we are working as quickly as possible to make the building safe.”
