A street was cordoned off in both directions by police this afternoon.
Officers were at the scene in Canal Road, Strood, over concerns for the welfare of a man inside a property.
Earlier on, Elle Clarke, who works at nearby The Boathouse pub, said police arrived around 2.30pm and there were about five cars in attendance.
She added: "We have not been told when we can leave. We are all stuck inside along with customers."
It is understood police were also called to the same property yesterday.
The road, which leads to Strood railway station, was closed in both directions while the force respond to the incident, but is now back open.
Earlier, a police spokesman said they had been called over concerns of a man inside a property.
The spokesman added: "The road was closed in both directions while officers to respond to the incident."
However shortly after 6pm it was confirmed by police the man had been placed in the care of medical professionals.
