A van ended up on its side after it crashed into a parked car and in Rainham yesterday morning
Fire crews and police were called out to Mierscourt Road, at about 9.40am after the white van hit a small red car parked in the road.
The impact also knocked down a lamppost which ended up on its side across the road.
It is understood when the emergency services arrived on the scene the driver of the van had fled.
Fire crews made the scene safe and were at the crash site for about an hour-and-a-half.
James Walker, spokesman for Kent Police, said: "Kent Police was called after a van overturned van in Mierscourt Road, Rainham, at 9.37am.
"In the moments prior to this it is reported the van was involved in a collision with a parked car.
"It is also reported that after coming to a stop, the driver of the van left the scene.
"Officers attended the location and are conducting ongoing inquiries to locate the driver."
