Trevern Campbell jailed for dealing drugs in Chatham
18:23, 25 January 2018
Police interrupted a potential drugs deal in Chatham and seized an amount of cocaine and heroin from its unwitting supplier.
Trevern Campbell, 25, of Orchard Court in London, was witnessed approaching a known drug user in Ambrose Hill in November 2017.
He was stopped, searched, and found to be in possession of a quantity of Class A drugs, including nine wraps of cocaine and 11 wraps of heroin.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing Class As with intent to supply and was sentenced to three years and four months in prison at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, January 23.
Investigating officer, detective constable Mark Silk, said: "Drugs are a blight to the community; destroying lives, costing the taxpayer millions, and encouraging other types of criminal offences.
"Campbell hoped to make a quick profit by taking advantage of a vulnerable person.
"However, he met with our officers rather than his intended target and will now serve time in prison as a consequence."
