A drug dealer who admitted planning to sell heroin and crack cocaine has been jailed.

Resean Mabo, 19, of Denmark Hill, London, was arrested in May and November last year after he was found with the class A substances in Gillingham on both occasions.

He was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison at Maidstone Crown Court today, after admitted two counts of possessing heroin and two counts of possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply.

On Friday, May 11, last year, officers went to an address in Saxon Street, Gillingham, where Mabo was found, alone, and was searched when police smelt cannabis.

One of the 19-year-old's bags was found with a large quantity of drugs, which included 57 wraps of heroin and 73 wraps of crack cocaine.

Mabo had to be released under investigation to allow forensic testing to take place.

He was later arrested on Tuesday, November 20, after patrol officers in Dock Road, Gillingham, became suspicious of a car in the area.

The vehicle was subsequently stopped in High Street, Brompton. Mabo was one of the passengers.

He was taken into custody and following a search police uncovered eight grams of heroin and just over two grams of crack cocaine.

Mabo was charged with all four offences and has been in custody since the date of his second arrest.

Detective Constable Robin Hemsley, the investigating officer for this case, said: "Mabo has shown he has no respect for the law and chose to continue to supply drugs, despite knowing he was under investigation for previous offences.

"It is entirely appropriate that he has received this sentence and I hope it sends out a strong message to other people seeking to visit Medway with the intention of supplying drugs."
