A Dump Trump protest is set to be held in Medway tomorrow night as politicians debate a petition demanding that the US President is not given a state visit to Britain.
More than two million people signed the petition calling on the government not to hold a formal visit for President Donald Trump.
Demonstrations are planned in London and elsewhere, but Medway Trade Union Council has also organised one in Rochester High Street.
Chas Berry from the council, said: “We’re trying to express our outrage at what the President represents and make it clear that he is not welcome in our country.
“It may be a couple of dozen people but it’s going to be taking place at the same time as others across the country.
“What we’re doing locally as a trades council is trying to facilitate a platform for people so they can express their feelings.”
The protest will begin at the pedestrian end of the high street near The Crown pub at 7pm and participants are asked to bring their own placards and banners.
When government petitions receive 100,000 signatures they have to be debated in parliament.
