Last week, youngsters in Year 3 and members of staff went into quarantine after testing positive for coronavirus.

And now a number of additional pupils and employees have contracted the virus.

As a result, head teacher Kirstie Jones has decided not to open school gates tomorrow (Monday).

About 600 pupils across all year groups will therefore study via online learning tools.

Further guidance will be sought from public health officials as to when the site can reopen.

A statement posted on the school's Facebook page reads: "Today we have been informed that additional staff and pupils have now tested positive for Covid-19.

"While we seek further information and guidance from Public Health England, we have taken the decision that the whole school must stay at home and work remotely on Monday."

The school says parents will be updated on the siltation tomorrow.
