THE independent Gills Supporters Club have written to Gillingham FC chairman Paul Scally asking for a right of reply to remarks made in his programme notes for Saturday's home game against Barnsley.

The supporters club are particularly incensed over comments made about money donated to what he called "African football causes".

Mike Keskeys, vice-chairman of the Gills Supporters' Club, said: "It's most important that every single Gillingham supporter, whether they are a member of our association or not, should realise that we have been banned by Mr Scally from contributing any form of sponsorship to the club.

"He doesn't want our money and made that perfectly clear when he stopped us sponsoring Mick Galloway."

Galloway is a former Gillingham midfielder now plays for Carlisle.
