A father and son have been jailed after police found a huge stash of cocaine hidden at their home and in several properties across Medway.
David and Lewis Squires were arrested after raids were carried out by police at three locations earlier this year.
A total of 6kg of cocaine was found hidden during the searches at the Squires' home address in Chorister Crescent, Hoo along with a property in Ranscombe Close, Rochester – where most of the drugs were found locked up inside a safe – and a garage off Seagull Road, Strood.
At the Strood address, a hydraulic press used to compact the drugs into large blocks was discovered.
Police also found £100,000 in cash, designer watches and clothing which were all seized during the warrants executed on March 5 this year.
Further investigations by officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate found tick lists and text messages linking the father and son to being involved in supplying Class A drugs.
David Squires, 44, and Lewis Squires, 21, both admitted two charges at Maidstone Crown Court of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property.
At a sentencing hearing on Friday, David Squires was sentenced to eight years in prison.
His son will serve a two-and-a-half years sentence.
Judge Philip Statman told the pair: "The supply of cocaine is a curse of the modern age. It brings decay and degradation. It destroys families and communities."
Det Supt Lee Morton said: "The evidence we have provided has proved beyond any doubt the roles of both these men in supplying Class A drugs on a substantial scale.
"Information remains key to deterring and disrupting criminals such as David and Lewis Squires and we have dedicated teams of officers who are relentlessly targeting those involved in the supply of drugs in our communities."
He added the public's help in assisting police with inquiries "remains vital", saying: "You are our eyes and ears and if you see anything suspicious don’t hesitate to call police on 101, or 999 if it’s an emergency."
