An underground electrical cable fire caused a power cut in Gillingham on Sunday night and some people were without electricity for more than 24 hours.
A crew from Medway fire station were called out to the lower part of Canterbury Street, at about 9.30pm
Firefighters from Chatham used a dry power extinguisher to put out the flames and the fire is thought to have been caused by damage to the cable while road works had been completed earlier.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks, said: “Power was initially interrupted to 31 customers in the Canterbury Street area of Gillingham at 6.29pm last night.
“To work safely our engineers temporarily turned off further supplies, the majority of the customers affected had their power restored within minutes and our staff worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore all but two of the remaining customers’ supplies by 1.19am.
“The final two supplies were reconnected at 11.10am today.”
