13:25, 20 December 2017
Firefighters helped a boat owner who woke up this morning to find herself knee deep in water.
Crews were called to help the woman who owns a houseboat in Hoo Marina, shortly after 3.30am this morning.
They used a light portable pump to remove the water, which had damaged some of the houseboat’s bedroom contents.
They restored the power and helped the owner set up her own electric pump before handing duty of care back over to her.
Crews left the scene at about 7.15am.
