An empty house in Chatham has been destroyed by fire.
The blaze broke out at the property in Symons Avenue at about 8pm on Friday.
Two fire crews were called to the scene and spent more than an hour tackling the blaze.
The fire is thought to have started in a caravan next to the house and spread to the building. Houses either side had to be evacuated because there was a danger the fire could have spread.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: “We could see the smoke from the building as we were driving along Chatham Hill on the way.
“There was no one inside the caravan or inside the house which we understand was disused.
“We had to go inside wearing breathing apparatus to tackle the flames.”
