Firefighters tackle compost fire in Burham Road, Rochester

Firefighters are currently at the scene of a fire involving a large pile of compost heap.
Three engines and a bulk water carrier were called to Burham Road, in Rochester, at 12.52pm.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "The technical rescue team is also in attendance and firefighters are using a telehandler machine to help break down the heap."
People living and working nearby were advised to close their windows and doors as a precaution, due to smoke coming from the incident. The warning was then lifted.
The fire was put out at 10.05pm. No injuries were reported and the cause is not yet known.
