Firefighters called to car fire on the M2
09:18, 01 October 2017
Firefighters were assisted by a motorist who helped deal with a car blaze on a Kent stretch of motorway last night.
Crews from Thames-side and Hoo fire stations had been called to the M2 London-bound, just before junction 1, at around 9.30pm, to reports of a vehicle's engine being on fire.
But by the time they arrived it had already been put out using a dry powder extinguisher.
They remained at the scene to damp the vehicle down and left shortly after.
