Firefighters called to kitchen fire in Haig Avenue, Gillingham

Firefighters were called to a home in Gillingham this afternoon after a fire started in the kitchen.
Two fire engines reached the blaze at the property in Haig Road at 3.50pm - just four minutes after the 999 call was made.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and cleared the smoke and fumes with a special fan.
They left the scene at 4.15pm. No one is thought to have been hurt in the fire.
