Flats in Luton Road, Chatham evacuated as fire breaks out in garage

An investigation is under way after four flats were evacuated in the early hours of this morning when a blaze took hold.
The fire broke out in a garage in Luton Road, Chatham as crews were called at 3.52am.
Emergency services were alerted and woke up residents to ensure they could evacuate their homes.
Pictures taken after sunrise show fire damage to a garage, with the interior having been ravaged by flames.
Four fire engines attended and a height vehicle was also used to access the property and quell the fire and prevent it spreading to neighbouring buildings and homes.
Firefighters were at the scene until 7.26am and police also attended.
It is understood no one suffered injuries from the blaze.
Further details have not yet been confirmed about the cause of the fire but a spokesman for the fire service said an investigation is taking place.
