Former MP Dame Tracey Crouch has landed a job with a leading communications and public relations company - advising top brands and sports stars.
The Tory announced in February she would not contest her Chatham and Aylesford seat at the next general election after 14 years.
She said she wanted a fresh challenge and feared she would be “institutionalised” if she remained in the House of Commons.
The former sports minister, who was widely praised for going public with her successful battle with breast cancer, says she’s delighted with her new job.
London-based Hanover Communications said her role would be “to drive the global growth” of its “rapidly expanding sports offer”.
The company has a long list of clients, including the NFL, UFC, England and Wales Cricket Board, British Horseracing Authority, Football Association, Premier League, Sky Sports and many more.
As well as being a government minister, Dame Tracey also chaired the Fan-Led Review into Football Governance.
She said: “I truly believe sport transcends politics, language, and cultural barriers.
“It has a superpower to cut through and unite like no other. I have seen first-hand just how good Hanover is at helping sports organisations flourish, so there was no other place I wanted to be.”
