A woman was taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash in Gillingham yesterday evening (Sunday).
The emergency services were called out to Church Street, just off the roundabout on the A289 Pier Road near to The Strand Leisure Park, after the smash.
It is understood four vehicles were involved in the collision, which happened at about 4.45pm, and the Kent Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene and landed in nearby Hillyfield’s Park.
The woman, who has not been named, was initially treated at the scene and was deemed well enough to be taken to hospital by land ambulance.
The road was closed for more then two hours while the emergency services dealt with the crash scene.
It is not thought the woman suffered serious injuries during the smash.
A spokeswoman for police in Medway said: “Kent Police was called at 4.45pm on Sunday, May 10 to Church Street, Gillingham.
“Three of the vehicles were recovered and the road opened by 7.30pm.”
