The funeral of a pregnant mum takes place today, as her family face an agonising wait to find out why she died.

Jade Glen, who was expecting her second child in July, was found dead at her parents’ home in home in Cobham Rise, Gillingham on Monday, May 26.

Her unborn baby, who she was going to call Dolly May, died with her.

The popular mum, 22, whose 18-month-old son Mickey was with her when she died, had been discharged from hospital at the beginning of May after being treated for a suspected blood clot.

Jade returned to hospital two days before she died because she was feeling unwell, but was sent home after being checked.

She was found dead on the bathroom floor by her dad Lloyd Glen after her boyfriend raised the alarm when he couldn't reach her on the phone.

Her family think she had been brushing her teeth as the cold tap was still running and her toothbrush was next to her.

The results of a post-mortem examination carried out last week have been ruled inconclusive.

Her family will have to wait at least eight weeks for the results of further tests to find out why she died. A spokesman for the coroner’s court said an investigation was taking place.

Jade and Dolly’s funeral is at The Garden of England crematorium in Bobbing today at 4pm. Mourners are asked to bring a single rose.

On Sunday, Jade’s family and friends held a memorial service for her and her unborn daughter, who she was going to name Dolly May.

Around 120 people gathered at Rookery Fields park in Woodlands Road, Gillingham to light candles, release balloons and lanterns and raise a glass to Jade.

Her sister Kara Glen, who organised the event, started the service by lighting a rocket and the evening ended with a fireworks display.

Jade, a former New Brompton College pupil, had struggled with mental illness for many years after being diagnosed as bipolar when she was just 15.

But she was looking forward to the birth of her daughter and making a new start.

Medway Maritime Hospital is conducting an investigation into the care Jade received.
