A giant art installation featuring messages of hope and celebrating unsung heroes will light up a town's riverside park.
The TOGETHER project arrives in Chatham and is being opened during a ceremony taking place this evening.
Residents' messages will appear at the heart of the artwork in a visual and audio display, brought to the town by Lucid Creates, an art production company based in Iwade.
It comprises three large rings suspended from four giant pillars, measuring 15 metres in height and width.
People have been encouraged to submit their messages to feature on the structure by Medway Council, which is behind the installation alongside Culture Liverpool.
Videos telling people's stories will also be beamed on to screens.
It will remain in Chatham until October 10 before touring around the UK.
The installation has been put up in the riverside park next to Chatham Library drawing intrigue and excitement.
Speaking last week about the launch, Medway Council deputy leader Howard Doe said: "TOGETHER and our exciting summer events programme are supporting Medway’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2025, which will create a legacy of opportunities for residents, particularly our children and young people."
