CCTV images of a two drivers who may have seen a hit and run involving a teenage girl have been released.

The 15-year-old was crossing Chaucer Road, Gillingham, when she was struck by a car, thought to be a Mercedes. The car was illegally turning right from Rainham Road.

The teenager was thrown into the air by the impact and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment. She was released suffering from just cuts and bruises.

Police have released images of two cars they think were in the area at the time of the accident, which took place just after 12.30pm on Septmeber 1.

PC George Shokar said: "Following our initial appeal for witnesses we were shown this CCTV footage from Chaucer Road.

"We believe these two cars were in the area at the time of the collision and may have seen something.

"We would urge the drivers to come forward to help with out enquiries."

Police are also reminding motorists there is no right turn into Chaucer Road from Rainham Road.
