The owners of a dog which is injured after being hit by two cars, are desperate to find him after he ran off from their home.

Claire McBeath, 49, and her family are desperate to find their dog Ted, who disappeared in Gillingham, on Friday, April 25.

Since then, Ted, who is just 16 months, has been spotted several times in the Lower Gillingham area and reported sightings suggest he has been hit by at least two cars on the A289 Gillingham Link Road.

Ted, pictured, went missing from his home in Eastern Road, after a front door had accidentally been left open.

He has been spotted several times in The Strand, Waterside Lane area and on land close to Riverside Country Park.

However, despite extensive searches for him, Ted, a Pomeranian type, has not been found.

Mrs McBeth, 49, and her husband Derek and their four daughters Ellie, 22, Georgia, 19 and Maisie and Louise, both 12, are all distraught they can't find him.

They organised a Facebook and poster campaign but have still not been reunited with their beloved pooch, who is microchipped.

Medway Council's stray dog service have also been contacted and are aware Ted is missing.

Mrs Mcbeath, said: "Our lives have been on hold. We have tried everything to find him.

"We contacted Animals Lost and Found in Kent and about 30 volunteers came out to search for him with us, they were wonderful.

"I am worried he is injured, one sighting said he had blood on him after he had been hit by the second car, he was clipped by another car before that too.

"We can't sleep and the house is so quiet, even our other dog Scooby, Ted's best friend, is missing him.

"It is the not knowing which is hard. He could be lying injured somewhere or someone could have taken him, we just want to find him.

The family are so distraught they are offering a reward for his safe return.
