Police helicopter searches Gillingham for 'armed man'

A police helicopter was drafted in to help officers search for an 'armed man'.
The force was called to Hawthorne Avenue, Gillingham shortly before 2.25pm today to a report of a man with a weapon.
Officers carried out a thorough search of the area with assistance from the National Police Air Service helicopter.
Nobody fitting the man’s description was found and there have been no further sightings.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
