People are being asked to have their say on a huge town centre redevelopment site which includes an empty superstore and a multi-storey car park.
Workshops are being held this week to help shape the future of the old Go Outdoors and market hall site in Chatham.
The camping shop, which was previously occupied by Tesco, closed in August last year.
The Arches Chatham Neighbourhood Forum (ACNF) was awarded £50,000 from the government to develop a neighbourhood development order (NDO) for the site in The Brook which also includes the HomePlus Furniture shop next door and the multi-storey car park behind.
Neighbourhood development orders grant planning permission for specific types of development in a particular area.
The Forum is working with consultants Create Streets to help create a community-led masterplan.
There will be two workshops on Thursday for people to have their say, one at 2pm at Nucleus HeART Space in the Pentagon shopping centre and a second at 6.30pm at Nucleus Arts Centre and Cafe Nucleus, off Chatham High Street.
Jackson Fraser-Hague, ACNF secretary, said last month: “We as local people have an opportunity to play our part and shape a development which is vital for the success of Chatham and wider Medway.”
