All Poppy wants for Christmas is for people to raise money for brain tumour research.
Poppy Eden of Rochester, hopes sharing her story of developing a severe brain tumour five years ago, could help raise £5000 for brain tumour research.
The 12-year-old said: “I had headaches they progressed and got worse every few days.
“I couldn’t put my head down or lift it up, eventually, I was sick every morning and I couldn’t sleep.
“It was a nightmare really.”
She was diagnosed in December 2016 and had life changing surgery in May of that year.
Poppy said: “After my surgery, I came out feeling so great.
“There are people less fortunate than me that I feel I should help, and I think fundraising is the best way to do that.”
“So many children develop tumours and we all need to raise money, find a cure and find better ways to get the diagnosis before it’s too late.
“I want to make sure other children don’t go through what I’ve gone through.”
So far Poppy has raised £150 for brain tumour research.
She is also organising a 'wear a hat day' at her dance school in Dance Alley, in Manor Road, Chatham, where she will encourage her friends to wear funky headgear to boost funds.
