There will be a Hollyoaks reunion at the Central Theatre, Chatham this Christmas as two of its former stars are set to appear in the pantomime.
Joe Tracini was already confirmed to play Chester the Jester in Sleeping Beauty, and now Andy Moss, who played Rhys Ashcroft in the Channel 4 soap, has been added to the line-up.
Andy will be playing the dashing Prince Valiant.
During his eight years in Hollyoaks, Andy enjoyed some of the soaps most explosive and award-winning storylines as loveable rogue Rhys, before ultimately crashing out in an emotional exit when a building collapsed on him at a double wedding.
He’s no stranger to the stage, having just finished a huge UK tour of Ghost the Musical in the lead role of Sam Wheat, stepping into the shoes of the late Patrick Swayze.
Andy’s other TV credits include Craig Gutteridge in the BBC drama Cutting It, Paul Cuthbert in BBC1’s Doctors and appearances in Casualty, Merseybeat and Girls in Love.
Joe, who played Dennis Savage in Hollyoaks, was a hit with audiences in last year’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk, when he appeared as Simple Simon.
TV and stage star Claire Sweeney will play the role of the wicked Carabosse, as announced in the Medway Messenger on Monday.
Her stage roles include Roxie Hart in Chicago and Miss Adelaide in Guys & Dolls, both in the West End. She is also known for her time as a panellist on Loose Women.
Veteran pantomime dame Ian Good will play Joe’s onstage mum, Dame Nellie Night Nurse. Audiences might recognise Ian from his role as one half of Brenda and Audrey, the competitive housewives from the Bounty Kitchen Roll TV ads, which he appeared in over seven years.
Sleeping Beauty will be on from Thursday, December 7, until Sunday, December 31. More casting announcements are said to be coming soon. Tickets are already on sale.
