Chatham boss Alex O’Brien bemoaned his side’s lack of a winning mentality after seeing them crash to a fourth successive Ryman League Division 1 South defeat on Saturday.

Chats suffered a 2-0 defeat at mid-table Horsham YMCA. O’Brien’s side sit 16th in the table and he fears the season is fizzling out.

"At the moment we look like a team that when the opposition score we collapse and that’s not what we want to be part of," said O’Brien.

Chatham went behind just before half-time and conceded a second mid-way through the second half.

O’Brien (pictured) said: "In the first half we did well and created at least four good chances. We had a lot of ball and moved it around well but then right on the stroke of half-time their forward had a one-on-one and he scored.

"We came out for the second half and chased the game but there was always going to be one winner."
