Hospice carers were given a well-earned treat during a recent shift after an Indian restaurant served up a feast for them.
More than 40 staff at the Wisdom Hospice in Rochester enjoyed dishes cooked by the Indian Ocean restaurant, which is based in Borstal.
The team at the hospice savoured the authentic cuisine courtesy of the family run business.
Owner Ranjit Singh said: "As a family we wanted to do this to show our appreciation for the amazing work that all the staff at this hospice does.
"With the palliative team that looked after my father I have seen first-hand the difference it makes having the support of caring professionals.”
The day was a family affair with Ranjit's son, Jag, co-ordinating the logistics, his mother Agya cooking up her signature chickpea vegetable curry and family favourite rice kheer pudding along with chefs from the restaurant.
Hospice staff were also able to come together and see each for the first time in many months as most staff work remotely, at Medway Maritime Hospital or visiting patients in their homes.
Emma Dengate from The Friends of the Wisdom Hospice said “It was wonderful to see one another and meet the friendly staff from Indian Ocean.
"Thank you so much to everyone involved in providing such an amazing treat. The food was absolutely delicious, I am definitely a new customer now.”
