They were dealing with a "medical incident" at the Stonegrove site on Whitewall Road.
Three police cars, four paramedic vehicles - two ambulances and two critical care cars - were outside the electrical engineering and air conditioning firm shortly after 10am.
A member of staff, who did not wish to be named, would only say it was a "private matter".
A patient was resuscitated at the scene after collapsing, ambulance spokesman Rich Airey confirmed.
The person was then taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in a serious condition.
Emergency services were at the scene for more than an hour.
