Part of a town centre car park was taped off by police last night after reports a man had been hurt in a fight.
Police were called to Rainham town centre at around 8pm last night. A cordon was set up at the back of the Cricketers pub in the High Street, closing off a small section of the car park.
A spokesman for Kent Police said officers attended following a report of concern for a man in the High Street.
She added: "Initial reports suggested an altercation had taken place and the car park of a pub was taped off whilst officers investigated the scene."
Police later located the man on the A2 in Newington. He had suffered minor injuries and claimed these were as a result of falling over. No offences were reported to the officers.
The injured man, in his forties, was treated by paramedics.
