Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish believes Sunday’s trip to ‘Fortress Romford’ offers the challenge his side need to give their new season lift-off.
Although Dynamos have won their opening two league games, Parrish feels they are "not yet firing on all cylinders."
With only six matches in the four-team South East Trophy competition, and having lost their opening match at Wightlink last Saturday, it means Dynamos will be up against it if they lose their tough second game at Romford Raiders, last year’s South Division 1 champions.
But Parrish (pictured) is relishing the chance of putting one over Romford, saying: "We need a spark to kick our season off and maybe playing at Romford will provide it.
"They have turned their rink into a little bit of a fortress over the past few years and teams get intimidated about going there, so perhaps it’s the sort of challenge we need."
And Parrish emphasised that Dynamos are taking the new competition seriously, adding: "I don’t think it’s worth entering a competition unless you are going to try to win it.
"The only proviso would be that, if we had a couple of the boys carrying knocks, I might leave them out of a South East Trophy game on a Saturday if we had a league game the next day, but other than that I will always play our strongest team."
Parrish, who celebrated his 37th birthday this week, has a full squad available for Sunday’s game apart from new boy Joe Bliss, who had booked a holiday before joining Dynamos. Bliss was on target in both of last weekend’s matches.
