Invicta Dynamos got their ENIHL Southern title defence off to the best possible start with an 11-3 victory over Oxford Stars.
The Dynamos, who were without captain Karl Lennon and forward Grant Baxter, paraded seven new faces in their side.
Invicta took a commanding 6-1 lead in the first period, and had gone 5-0 ahead inside 10 minutes. Andy Smith, AJ Smith and Johan Stenvall put them three goals in front, before Andy Smith and Anthony Lennon added another two.
Dean Francis open Oxford’s account, but Andy Smith restored the five goal margin and completed his hat-trick by the end of the first period.
Oxford added two goals in the second period, through Dean Francis and Joe Edwards, with Dynamos' sole reply coming in between those goals from Peter Vaisanen.
The Dynamos hit four unanswered goals in the final period, with Andy Smith netting his fourth, Stenvall wrapping up his hat-trick with two and Joe Johnston getting the other.
