Defenceman Ryan Giles has joined NIHL South League champions Romford after Dynamos coach Kevin Parrish told him he was no longer in his plans.

Giles (pictured), 21, struggled to regain his best form following a car crash two years ago and Parrish feels a fresh start will do him good.

He said: "It was a serious crash – he snapped his thigh bone in half.

"He came back when he wasn’t quite ready and I still don’t think he was fully fit last year, even though he told me he was.

"He’s played for Romford before and they see something in him.

"Their coach likes him although I think he was either banned or injured when we played them last year.

"On top form he can be a good defender so the move could be just what he needs and I wish him all the best.

"We remain friends away from the rink but letting him go will open the door for others."

Parrish has, however, handed a new deal to defender Adam Copland, despite a disappointing season and has challenged him to rediscover his top form.

He said: "Cops didn’t have a great season but he has a lot of talent and that’s why I’ve decided to keep him.

"In his defence, he had more ice time than anyone bar the keeper.

"Mistakes will happen when you’re out there a long time.

"He needs to get himself in better shape and I’m confident he will do.

"I’ve told him what I want, now it’s down to him to deliver."
